So gone are the days showing up in your bank and queuing on long lines in order to do some banking transactions.

What is Phishing?
Phishing, often used with a counterfeit email, is the act of sending an email claiming to be from a legitimate, trustworthy entity. It is meant to deceive the unsuspecting recipient into divulging confidential information such as password, credit card numbers, and bank account information after directing the user to visit a specified website. The website, no matter how similar it is to the real website, is not genuine and was set up only as an attempt to steal the user’s information.
What to do?
1. Never provide any Account Information via e-mail or other means.
2. In case the requested information had already been provided, immediately change your password through the official BDO Online Banking website https://online.bdo.com.ph.
3. Never click on the links provided. To ensure that you are directed to the BDO website, type in www.bdo.com.ph on your internet browser and select Online Banking Login.
How to determine if communication is officially from BDO?
OFFICIAL E-MAIL COMMUNICATION:
All our official communications are made through BDO official email addresses, i.e. firstname.lastname@example.org, where xxxx is either the name of the unit or the name of the bank personnel sending the email. If you are doubtful of the content of the email, you may call our BDO Customer Contact Center. BDO will not send advisory or announcements through public email addresses such as Yahoo, Hotmail, G-mail and etc.
